highlights.

this week:
sunshine & sand. happy hour sushi. wearing an anna sui paisley dress flecked with metallics and brocade. seeing goldfrapp live in concert and fawning over her many, many costume changes. enjoying the warm evenings and extended daylight. doing my best to avoid the scorching humidity. babycakes cupcakes. exploded fire hydrants on south 1st street. leisurely walking through the west village and meatpacking districts. dining al fresco. summery cocktails. LOTS of night-time bike rides. running into old friends on the subway platform. watching the runaways in bed; dreaming about starting a rock band if for no other reason to have a venue to wear ridiculous statement pieces.

  3. Gazel - Marc Jacobs is opening a new bookstore on Bleecker Street (my old stomping grounds) and the recycled colored pencils are among the swag they're rolling out in anticipation of the new store - along with other cute (and inexpensive!) things, like backpacks, school supplies, bookmarks, etc.

  5. hey vanessa!
they haven't opened yet so i'm not exactly sure, but I have a feeling it's going to be a mixture of design + lifestyle books. i'm only saying this based on the offering at the paul smith book store.

  11. steeeeeeeeve. yeah, i wrote up about that in the comments! yay! i'm excited for the book store, though the one they're replacing was great, too. it was the type of book store that's too cramped and filled to the brim with used and new, old editions and reprints - spilling onto the sidewalk. bought many, many books there in my living-on-bleecker-street days.
