You may have noticed that I sometimes use my blog as a little bit of a replacement-Priest sounding-board, so now, confession time: I have a bit of an addiction to Net-a-Porter, a site that let's me pretend, for just a minute, that I can buy some of the runway pieces I lust after and fantasize about wearing on make-believe walks through uptown Manhattan while walking my pug and/or french bulldog puppy, and spending several leisurely hours perusing art. Sometimes I even go "fantasy shopping" and add all the Burberry Prorsum, Alexander McQueen, Miu Miu, and Lanvin pieces that I love to my cart... Just for fun. Someone please tell me they do this, too. Please.
In my recent visits to their new arrivals section, I found my mouse gravitating towards the little bits of Anya Hindmarch's spring collection that are finally making their way into frenzied fashion-loving hands, and not surprisingly, I wish they'd land in mine, too.
In my last trip to London, I had the pleasure of previewing Anya's collection, but never had the opportunity to share. Now seems to be the perfect time, with the cold starting to get to my core and sending me into a full-on spring fling.

One of my top three pieces from the collection, I think it's actually tied for number 1 along with the turquoise stingray clutch. I absolutely love the structure of this bag, along with the enameled hardware.

Love the clever organizational systems in these bags.

How gorgeous are these? I can't get over this luscious blue color.

Another favorite from this collection. I'm not typically one to be attracted to exotics, but I absolutely love this bright turquoise stingray and the gorgeous, art-deco style hardware.

The round-out to my top three. This clutch is amazing, and also available in black and silver. Though.. maybe this is sort of a predictable pick for me, given my fondness for glittery things (1 & 2, etc...)

Having a background in brand design, I was thoroughly impressed with the way that the collection was materialized in every piece of the collection's presentation, from the design of the actual accessories to the venue, to details like this gorgeous sailboat in a glass bottle.

Designer Anya Hindmarch

I was thrilled to not only get a sneak peak at the collection and feel all the amazing materials, but also walk away with little bits of the fun and whimsy the A.H. team put into the presentation!

you just made me want a ship-in-a-bottle. i'm going to go pretend-buy one on the internet.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I want to go on a yacht now and sail away.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful this post is - love all the tiny details (the little Buckingham Palace in the fish tank and the shrimp lollies!) I had an invite but was unfortunately doing a backstage interview at the exact same time and couldn't make it. It seems we kept nearly bumping into each other at LFW!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I do that exact same time - my Net-a-Porter cart/wish list is constantly bulging with items worth more than my rent...
Briony xx
Thanks for sharing this, I did not know about this brand.
ReplyDeleteI love sea and lakes and I am also a small boat owner, always into nautical clothes of course!

ReplyDeleteGreat post Nikki. Love the new collection. That reminds me to use the grey AH bag I got with passion over a year ago and still haven't put it to use. Shame on me.
ReplyDeleteUMMMM My second favorite thing to do is go pretend shopping. (My first favorite is obviously real shopping)I am constantly putting things in my "basket". Marc thinks I am crazy, don’t worry Nikki you are not alone. The clutch with the turquoise sting ray is gorgeous!! Perhaps I will put it in my "basket" ;) xo
ReplyDeleteI add expensive things in my cart too! But this collection is gorgeous! That glittery clutch has to be mine!!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I wish you had another picture of those fringey sparkly clutches in the bottles sailboat picture. They look exquisite!
ReplyDeleteOMG, those clutches are amazing! i looove the one with the black glitter - unfortunately it's too expensive! but nice to look at!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the first bag in cream/black! But: why are they so expensive? :-(
