Friends & Adventures & Ice Skates in Meatpacking

I have to admit, sometimes being over three-thousand miles away from my family can get aggravating, and while I'm lucky to have parents and family that I'm really close to, the reality that I can't see them whenever I want can be a little hard to deal with at times. Fortunately, I have a really fantastic adoptive family in New York City - built on the foundation of incredible friendship. I've said it before, but I really am blessed to be surrounded by talented, creative, hard-working, and loyal friends, and I appreciate all the more when: times are tough, work is strenuous, the weather is shit, the cold makes me want to hibernate but they still pull me outside and lift my spirits. Cheesy, right? But it's true. A few hours with my favorites can fix everything.

  3. Is it like a Plaid Day? I think Nicolette, you are very blessed with such good and supportive friends around you and I really like the Photobooth pictures. There's something about everyone squeezing into a frame that makes it extra cosy.

  6. Oh this is why i love you and your blog. your photos are always so amazing: the are stylish and awesome. you can see that you guys had a fabulous time, and hey that is the most important thing: connection with your friends and family. i love the fact that you were all wearing the same shirt, you look fabulous in it BTW. (love the red on you). we do not wear plaid shirts enough, so a themed party is an excellent idea. the two dogs are so adorable and i love that couch. when we were in NYC they were tearing the ice rink down. Oh and i love the blouse with the dots, love the shimmering.

  12. thank you for the peek into your world! you look so happy - I moved away when I was 18, and almost 10 years later I feel like the homesickness still doesnt go away. But it's always nice to find a home away from home in this big world.

  17. Fat Aus: Thank you so much!! Wish you were in them, too!

Falala MEle: Thank you!! I love photobooths, and this one is particularly kind. 10 people is quite an accomplishment! As you can see, even getting 4 of us in there was difficult!!

The Merry Traveller: It was a "hunting" themed party and virtually everyone came in variations of plaid! It was awesome.

Rachel: Lots of great days!! Thanks :) I've tried switching the layout up a bit so I appreciate the feedback!

Gabi: I ASK MYSELF THIS QUESTION CONSTANTLY. PLEASE COME OUT MORE. PLEASE.

Absolutely Mrs. K: Thank you, darling!!! You know I feel the same way. The puppies and the couch are too much... frequently scheme on stealing all three out of my friend's apartment :)

A Girl, A Style: This J.Crew necklace screams "Briony" to me! I've had it since before I knew you, but I need to track one down for you!!

Eli: Thank you so much!! NYC has been my home since I was 18, too, and while I know it's home, my family is still something I constantly miss.

Margot: I'm dying to visit!!! Trust me!
