Pink Glitter on a Stormy Day

http://www.softpaws.com/Rain is frequently a nuisance, but then there are times it creates the perfect work conditions. The rain slowly tapping on my window, while I sit and write with a cup of coffee from Blue Bottle (I'm partial to their New Orleans and Kyoto cold brews), listening to Beirut's newest album, The Rip Tide, would probably be included as a short vignette in the movie about my life (directed by Woody Allen, naturally). I digress! I came home yesterday to these beautiful pink glittery lace-up oxfords, a gift from Parisian designer Patricia Blanchet. I feel like they had me in mind when they decided to make an all-pink version of my beloved multi-glitter lace up oxfords! Is there anything (like a stormy day, for example) that pink glittery shows can't brighten? My cat, Lily, is inclined to agree, (her softpaws match my new shoes).

Blue Bottle! huh, it is also a jellyfish! never mind, i think the shoes are so so you! they are indeed perfect for you (and for me too actually). this is such a hilarious gorgeous post and the thing is it is one of the first posts i have ever seen that made me fuzzy inside, i don't know why but i just love love love it! the shoes like the new version of 'the red shoes'.

  16. You are a blogging machine at the moment (and I love it!). I think it's pretty self-evident that this blog post is basically porn to me, but just in case there was any confusion.... glitter!!! pink!!! oxford shoes!!! Oh my!! And that last picture of Lily's paws made me 'awwww' out loud at my desk (when I was pretending to be working, natch).

    And you are right, some days there is a wonderful romance to being trapped indoors while the rain falls outside. And what better present to arrive on such a day than these glittery pieces of shoe heaven!

  17. Oh no... that makes me sound crazy! I swear I'd never actually paint her nails!! The pink glitter on my cat are actually claw caps called Soft Paws. They're a humane alternative to declawing cats! That way, I can save my upholstered furniture and shoes from her wrath of destruction.

  20. I was never really into oxfords for my personal style but after seeing these, how could you not want them in your life? I almost think I would feel magical wearing them! Have you planned or worn your 1st outfit with them yet?

  33. Was it the furry paws with glittery claws??? That would probably make me fuzzy, if I didn't know what the cat was capable of doing without them! She's a destroyer.

    Blue Bottle is one of my favorite coffee places! Didn't know it was a jelly fish, too?? I'll have to look that up :)

  39. Is it silly to romanticize experiences like this?? I will say one benefit to working from home (most of the time) is not having to pretend. Focused when I need to be, unfocused when I don't! I miss being in an office, at times, though!

  40. Not silly at all! I'm all about romanticising as much as possible in life - why mope around in a cynical bubble when we can embrace these lovely, simple pleasures. And oh how I wish some days/weeks/months I could work from home - although being in an office does at least force me to brush my hair/put on lipstick. ;) xx
