Rafaella SS12 + Style Council

Last week, Zandile Blay, Jenny Altman, and I joined Rafaella to kick-off the debut of their Spring 2012 collection. It was a huge honor to be selected as part of their Style Council, and the three of us had loads of fun playing dress-up with the mannequins in the showroom, and turning the workwear-heavy collection into fun, trendy looks that could take a working girl from day to night. My favorite pieces were silky midi-length micro pleat skirts (in stripes and polka dots), voluminous button-down tops, and a vertical striped maxi-dress (above) inspired by creative director Richard Metzger's trips to Greece. Best part? Almost all the pieces in the collection are priced well under $150, and the sizing goes from petite to plus. I love a brand that thinks inclusively!

If you're not near a department store that carries the brand, don't worry: Rafaella is available online!

I want one of these in every color!

Mannequin on the left is the look I styled for the press event!

Thanks so much to Rafaella and HL Group for including me!

  1. first of all: of course they ask you to be a style council!!! and i loved what you are saying about "turning the workwear-heavy collection into fun"! Sometimes it is all about styling, you have smashing pieces that are hard to style! But when you wear them in the right way they look phenomenal and that is where you come in!

  2. I really like the blue vertical stripe dress. You also did a great job with styling. Love the accessories you added to the blouse and polkadot skirt, It really makes it look much better :) Very comfortable yet stylish with a long strand of pearls and the other short piece of necklace. Great job and introduction to the line.

  4. Any idea if the bottom right dress (the lace one) will be available as a plus size offering? I like Rafaella but not everything they offer is available as both regular and plus size. I just hate to get my hopes up cause I'm grooving on that lace dress.

  5. Actually, yes! I believe they are! For spring they're offering practically every piece in sizes 2-22 :)
