Gift Guide: Jetsetter!

I've started hearing Christmas music in stores around New York, Starbucks is serving Grande Triple Peppermint Mochas in their famous ornament-laden red cups, and the first snow fall came shockingly early over a week ago. Before we know it, we'll be tripping over wrapping paper, twinkle lights, and rolling our eyes at the I-Can't-Believe-I'm-Hearing-This-Again sounds of Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You, (or perhaps more apropos, Justin Bieber's Misteltoe). As the holiday season seems to be starting earlier and earlier, I thought I'd stay on top of things myself by rolling out a series of gift guides (every Tuesday from now until the new year) to commemorate the most wonderful time of the year. Have a topic in mind? I'd love your suggestions!

1. Diptyque Mini Candles, $84. Perfect for those surprisingly musky hotel rooms. 2. Benefit Benetint, $28. Benefit Eye Bright, $20. Benefit Ooh La Lift, $22. Jet-lag, be gone! 3. House of Harlow "Chelsea" Glasses, $138. 4. Kate Spade Rainspot iPad Case, $50. 5. Holly GoNightly Sleep Mask, $15. 6. ASOS Suede Aggie Booties, $82. Giving Isabel Marant a run for the money! 7. Sonia Rykiel Spotted Twill Scarf, $150. 8. Lulu Guinness Hard Sided Lips Spinner Cases, $299 - $399. 9. Leopard Passport Holder, $14. 10. Wallpaper* City Guides, $5 (Digital), $10 (Paper). 11. Fuji Instax 7S, $130. 12. GHD Gold Series Styler, $195. Life-changing styler, and universal voltage means you won't fry your flatiron (or your hair, thanks to ceramic plates) abroad!

  2. This is great. As someone who travels internationally a LOT, I really really need to pony up and buy a universal voltage flat iron (and travel blowdryer!) as my current plan of me just buying a new cheapie in every country is resulting in me carrying a lot of unnecessary electronics in my bag and mislocation freakouts when I can't find the one I need two hours before time to go.

  7. Cool list.  i esp like the leopard passport holder.  it will make all the TSA guys jelous.

also, in a shameless self-promotional plug (i happen to work there), you should check out Jetsetter's Bon Voyage inspiration box (www.jetsetter.com/bonvoyage).  it's a beautiful coffee table book, and it comes with a travel planning session from our network of travel experts.

  8. can i admit that i secretly have this really bizarre deep-rooted love of christmas music, mariah included?! ugh!

random question from your inclusion of the flat iron: do you have any recc's for a curling iron? the one i've got is the one that (literally) my mother has been using since the early 90's and is a total nightmare and now that i finally! have girl hair! that is blonde! i've been hunting everywhere for a great one.

  9. I love the MC Christmas songs, am I so unfashionable right now or what? I'd love to see a country girl's guide to city living -- being in the country myself trying to stay on edge with what's going on in the "real" world!

  10. I have a scary amount of stuff on this list already, but I MUST have this Holly GoNightly mask!! Also, random question: how do you do your collages? I wanted to do gift guides too, but didn't know how to do them.

  11. Oh, without a doubt you DEFINITELY need the Holly GoNightly mask!! But, you know, don't buy it. wink wink.

    Photoshop!

  12. I love Mariah Carey too!! Nothing unfashionable about it. But, by the time the third week of December rolls around, it definitely makes me a bit stabby.... Repetition can do a thing or two to a girl.

I'll see if I can wrap my head around the country girl topic! Being a city girl myself, it's completely foreign to me!

  13. Man, I guess I should have clarified how much I LOVE Mariah Carey's take on carols. I really, really do.

This particular flatiron actually doubles as a curling iron, (like, really). Watch this YouTube tutorial. It completely blew my mind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyw8Y5XRWBE

  16. Thank you!! The glasses are amazing. So glam and enormous enough to hide any jetlag-induced eye-baggage ;)
