{INTERIORS} 50 Great Home Decor Pieces Under $50

You may have caught word about my home decorating bug -- either from the exhaustive post I did on my living room or from the overzealous (and perhaps ridiculous) instagrams of throw pillows. It has become an obsession that has rivaled my love of shoes, and with more spaces to decorate (like my bedroom, and my not-so-far-in-the-future New Orleans pied-a-terre on the horizon, I keep hunting for great pieces that won't break the bank. Continue...

From the quirky to the beautifully functional, below are 50 of my favorite finds under $50!
Have a great, budget-friendly resource for home decor? I want to know what it is!!

  1. Thankfully, I was able to find the pied-a-terre, but I still find myself stifled at the uniform-du-semain. Please clarify this for me lol ( I need clarity ASAP)... I will give you one thing - you make me take my reading seriously! I like my brain stimulated and you are one but a handful of blogs/writers that actually make a person eat meat and not just the dessert. Thanks for not allowing my gray-matter to go to mush. Continuez votre bon travail! (Yes, I like to give a little back a little of what I have learned) ;)

  2. Hahahaha! Uniform-du-semain was a totally made up one (by me, of course) to mean uniform of the week. I tend to cycle between outfits where I repeat them for many days in the row and then stop wearing them entirely (at least as a head-to-toe look!)

  3. Hallelujah! I was right and I was not crazy that I could not find it. I was Googling all kinds of ways and that it what I was able to piece together once I kept inserting it into the sentence. Whew! You made me work for that one! My toes hurt because you keep me on them when I read your blogs. Thanks for giving me a reason to want to read a blog or two or three...

  9. Lovely, elegant choices. Especially the Jere pom poms. I have a Jere piece that I love (a car in a country scene) and my mother in law has the seagulls. We've sold the poms a few times. My favorite budget-friendly source is estate sales. Not shocking because that's what I do for a living, but you can typically get things for at least 75% off their original retail price and it's nice to use something with history and keep it from the landfill.

  13. Hi Nicolette,

while I love reading your blog and your column in marie claire, im just wondering how a blogger as influential as yourself only posts on occasion? i come visit your blog often and rarely is there a new post - though i've appreciated the last three within a short time frame - it's sort of confusing to me as a reader of many blogs where other bloggers post on a weekly, if not daily (or ever other day) basis. if i flip back three pages or so, the posts date back to december 2012! i'm not trying to be mean (to anyone who wants to attack/defend/etc), i'm just curious as to why the lack of posts if you're a fashion blogger in some sort of spotlight?

    xoxo

  14. Hey Anna!

I really appreciate this feedback and actually am working on amping up the frequency of my posts and content. Right now, I have about a dozen posts that are scheduled for the coming weeks - and I hope those are exciting and well received!!

The truth is that I wear many hats as a freelancer - alongside being a contributor at Marie Claire, I also consult with about half a dozen brands at a time, as well as working on personal projects that I can't yet reveal. I wish I had more time to devote to being able to blog exclusively, full time, but it's not possible for me at the moment. I try to pride myself on putting out high quality content rather than posting for the sake of posting - though, know that I am, indeed, working to amend the frequency of my blog posts! I have a few outfit posts, travel posts, and beauty and hair posts that I'm really excited about!

Thanks again for the feedback :)

  16. 50 x 50 = 2500.... it's not toooooooo bad for an entirely decked out home, though it does defeat the purpose of finding budget-friendly pieces!! My apologies in advance :) xoxo

  20. Thank you so much! I think shopping estate sales is such a skill, and one I haven't yet honed into. I'm hoping that with the time I spend in the south coming up, I'll be able to really take my hand at estate sale hunting!!
