{STYLE} Baby, It's Cold Outside

I am so bored of talking about how awful the weather is right now (though I REALLY sympathize for those of you in the Midwest), but I can't just post a picture of myself with bare legs and walk away from it in the middle of a POLARVORTEX, can I? That unexpected 60-degree day we had following a blizzard a couple of weeks ago seems like a distant memory, now. At least I have a solid outfit I can put into rotation when the weather comes around again, right? I might need to make a quick escape for warmer pastures. I didn't have any travel on my horizons for the next couple of months, but there's only so much wind-slapping-to-the-face I can take. Plus, I miss prancing around in sheer paneled skirts and bare legs. Who doesn't?

Winter escapes (and by that I mean, escapes from the winter - not to a mythical winter wonderland) are really, really good for the soul - and I'm currently kicking myself for not having planned one in advance. Did a native California girl really expect to go the entirety of winter without living the freezing tri-state? New Orleans, here I come.

  4. We just got back from New Orleans! So restorative and romantic and mysterious and FUN! A true escape. I love love your skirt. Shoes too but I wouldn't last long in them. Ah pain for beauty! I'm no stranger.

  6. Your purses are always THE BEST!!! They speak to me on levels I didn't even know were possible!
And I totally agree about a trip to warmer places. It's getting too cold for Georgia right now and it's making me crazy!! I can only imagine how it is up there...stay warm! Hopefully we'll have bare leg weather before we know it! :)

Hi! I'm from Brazil and I'm planning a trip to NY and I'll stay from Dec to Jan and I was really worried about the weather. Here in Brazil (especially Rio de Janeiro) it's so hard to find plus size clothes let alone cold weather plus size clothes and my family said I was insane, that I'd freeze out there because I would never find cold weather coats, pants and all those clothes one has to use in cold weathers. They've also said that I should only travel if I managed to loose some pounds and I was almost agreeing... I was so sad, but then I found your blog and I'm snooping around to see where I can buy some cold weather clothes as wonderful as yours! That pink coat you're wearing in this picture on the sidebar is THE most amazing coat EVER!!!! I'm in love with your blog, your style, your clothes!!! Thank you so much! You've saved my trip and my dream to visit NY on xmas!!!

  14. I can't believe that it is so cold overseas at the moment. Australia is so humid and sweaty. The last couple of days we've had a beautiful cool breeze but it is pretty much shorts and singlet weather!

  15. It seems like a distant memory the last time my legs were bare outside.

  16. That skirt!!! I loved that random 60 degree day too, and also seized the opportunity to go bare-legged in NYC in December. I've heard its supposed to be 55 degrees tomorrow - that's something, right?
