{STYLE} Powder Blue Gingham

One of the biggest joys I get out of working in the plus-size market for Marie Claire is getting the opportunity to discover and share new designers and brands that are emerging and specializing in sizes 10+. My newest designer crush was found through the indie darlings at Re/Dress, and it's Los Angeles-based Zelie for She. Zelie for She was launched in 2012 when designer and blogger Elann Zelie  graduated from design school and began blazing her own path for fashionable, on trend clothing - and it's all nicely priced under $100. It's worth noting that her own personal style is a adorable and definitely translates into her collection - full of tutus, matching bralettes with skirts, and great textiles, (this embellished number is a new favorite).

Do you have any new designers/brands you've recently discovered?? I'd love to hear about them!

Note: This post was NOT sponsored; I'm just really excited to see new, independent, women-owned businesses emerging left and right in the plus-size market. As usual, when a post is sponsored, I will always disclose.

  2. Just been checking out this brand and I love it! I get so excited when I hear about new brands! It just seems as though all the best plus size fashion is in America at the moment and I'm sadly not haha. I couldn't afford the shipping at the moment but maybe I'll save up for a tutu!

  5. Love the fabric, and the subtle two piece! I made a gingham dress a while ago and I still really love it, but I think this two piece could look great in the material too...

  12. I have so much respect for you. The way you dress. The enthusiasm in your eyes in the pictures.
But above all: very much respect that you are not afraid for what "pieces of bare skin" in your outfit. I can just see it: you respect yourself 100%. Or more? And you radiate thereby and it is therefore not at all as it may not be perfect.
This is really great. Large size clothing do you think, in any case, no problem. I think you are an example for many a woman with a size more.
p.s. I have this text translates with a translation website. I can get basic phrases English and I save me reasonable, but this was too big a piece of text. That would be me not going to succeed. However, I would like you say this. So sorry for: 1. weird syntax 2. crazy words out there not hear in the sentence.
    3. ambiguities.
You just had to hear this from me. Because I own "size 22" have. This is really very special and also inspiring to see.
Keep up the good work. Topper!

  20. I love that she can just as effortlessly and beautifully design southern california bohemian and tropical frocks as she can ladylike prim and proper two-sets. it's so refreshing to see that kind of range from a new designer!

  21. Thank you so much Lauren!! I think the lipstick was MAC Ruby Woo, but I don't remember exactly!! If you feel like you need a little help with lipstick, I can't recommend Sephora's cream lip colors enough. They're kind of idiot proof, and they have a matte finish and major staying power. My favorite color is "Always Red," which has a really similar color to what I'm wearing in these photos but finishes very matte. They go on like a lip gloss with a wand so it's really easy to outline your lips and get a good, budge-proof shape! http://bit.ly/1pjNHxZ
